our purpose
To produce effective, reliable and sustainable print and packaging solutions that delivers maximum benefit to our customers.
When you have been in business for as long as Rawson, you learn a thing or two about what it takes to ensure customers get what they want, when they want, with as little fuss as possible. We like to think we have become really good at meeting deadlines, working within budgets, sorting out the little details and bringing new ideas to solving problems.
Paper, print and packaging has been the preferred method of communication for over 2000 years. In this changing world, print continues to be highly effective and—used responsibly—is inherently renewable. At Rawson we seek to ensure that;
1) we create a business dedicated to environmentally responsible production
2) we foster greater understanding of our industry’s environmental credentials.
In doing so, we will ensure that print—through its myriad of uses—remains the essential, renewable communication medium of choice.

Our continuous investment in a raft of environmental strategies addressing product and printing press technology, allows us to use fewer chemicals and less energy throughout the production process. A great example is our Heidelberg five-colour press which is equipped with an in-line aqueous water-based coater, enabling printed paper recycling without harmful by-products.
As a Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified printer FSC CO19817, we can elevate your projects to meet the highest environmental and social standards. This process ensures that your products come from responsible sources. Sustainable sourcing puts forests and people first. Show your commitment, and talk to our team about making your next project with FSC® certified products.
We use environmentally friendly soy and vegetable-based inks made from the extracts of corn, walnut, coconut, linseed, canola and soybean. These are often blended for best printing results. Vegetable-based inks are a renewable resource not requiring harmful solvents to clean the printing presses, and are easier to de-ink—unlike petroleum-based inks—in the recycling process.
Rawson has implemented a recycle and reuse program in our factory, which means that we reuse or recycle 100% of all print waste materials including recycling ink for future jobs. We also ensure that all other waste is sorted before disposal to ensure materials stay away from—and therefore reduce—landfill. We extend this due diligence to reporting on this activity on monthly basis.
Rawson's adoption of energy-efficient lighting systems and innovative printing press technology throughout our factory minimises the environmental footprint of our Australian based manufacturing facility. These initiatives come together to provide our clients with print solutions that they can be confident are environmentally-friendly. See Reduction and Technology for more details.
While this applies to energy-efficiencies, our use of Computer-to-Plate technology (CTP) is an important reduction strategy eliminating the use of film. With this technology, we use fewer chemicals and less water. Additionally, electronic proofing also uses fewer materials while providing faster turnaround and the elimination of the need for couriers, further reducing CO2 emissions.
Please Note: We do not produce corrugated items.
